Jan 15, 2014
HSI CEO Robert A. Cooke, Ph.D., will be participating in a panel at the 29th Annual Conference of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) in Honolulu, Hawaii. The panel, entitled "The International Culture & Climate Item Pool: Concerns and Solutions," will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 7:30 am.
The goal of this session is to open a discussion among practitioners and researchers on the topic of an open-source item pool for standardizing the measurement of organizational culture and climate. Issues to be discussed include tensions between researchers and practitioners with respect to preferences and assumptions around measurement efforts.
This panel discussion will focus on the establishment of an International Culture and Climate Item Pool, or ICCIP. Panelists include Neal Ashkanasy (University of Queensland, Australia) and Robert Cooke (Human Synergistics & University of Illinois, Chicago). Panelists will discuss the conflicting assumptions about measurement held by academics and practitioners, as well as pros and cons of establishing this resource.
